Manufacturers Certificate of Origin

Similar to a birth certificate, manufacturers issue a Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO) after producing a mobile home. This document contains descriptions about the mobile home, including the manufacturer, the year model, model name, weight, identification number, and other identifying features.

When filing for the original title for a mobile home, the MSO must be included in the paperwork. If the home is later sold, a title is required and must be properly transferred to the new owner to comply state law and avoid ownership disputes down the road.

If you are in the process of buying or selling a mobile home in Georgia, North Carolina, or West Virginia, Attorney Wendy A. Owens can help ensure everything is done properly and goes smoothly. Ms. Owens is a member of both the Real Property Division of the North Carolina State Bar and the Real Property Division of the Georgia Bar. Thanks to her years of experience and knowledge, she can efficiently facilitate the smooth transfer of mobile home ownership.
